This spectacular Fairytale Castle Wedding Cake Display remains one of the largest and most ambitious wedding cake projects we have ever created. Inspired by classic fairytale castles, royal weddings and magical princess stories, this breathtaking showpiece transformed an entire section of the venue into a truly unforgettable display.
Featuring an illuminated castle, sweeping staircases, dozens of decorative elements and multiple coordinating cakes, this was far more than a wedding cake. It was a complete wedding cake installation.
A Wedding Cake Fit for Royalty
The centrepiece of the display was a towering castle, decorated in elegant ivory and gold detailing and illuminated with warm fairy lights. Inspired by fairytale palaces and princess castles, the design featured intricate moulded details, ornate doorways, turrets, sugar flowers and a dramatic multi-level structure that drew guests’ attention from across the room.
The castle itself was surrounded by beautiful ivory and gold roses, creating the impression that it was rising from a magical garden.
To complete the fairytale theme, the display also included a stunning horse-drawn carriage and a collection of coordinating cakes arranged around the castle to create an incredible visual impact.
More Than Just One Cake
Although many couples imagine a large wedding cake as a single towering structure, displays of this scale are often created using multiple cakes working together as one design.
This particular display included:

- 11 individual three-tier wedding cakes
- 6 additional cakes displayed on crystal diamante pillars
- A stack of three ornate edible cushion cakes
- A hand-crafted horse-drawn carriage cake
- Hundreds of decorative sugar details and flowers

Fun Fact: Although it appeared to be one enormous wedding cake, the display was actually made up of multiple cakes working together to create one spectacular centrepiece capable of serving over 500 guests.
What Does It Take to Create a Wedding Cake of This Scale?
Creating a wedding cake display of this size involves far more than baking and decorating.
Projects like this require careful planning, structural design, transportation logistics, venue coordination and several hours of on-site assembly. The castle centrepiece and decorative elements were transported separately before being carefully assembled at the venue, with final flowers, lighting and finishing details added during setup.
While most wedding cakes can be delivered and set up within an hour, this installation required a dedicated team and approximately four hours of on-site work to bring the vision to life.
The result was a truly unforgettable centrepiece that became one of the most talked-about features of the wedding.
