Do I have to Attend a Consultation?

Wedding consultations are not essential, especially if you already know the cake design that you want. We have a wealth of information on our website, including wedding cake FAQs to answer lots of questions. We are also happy to help via email, WhatsApp, Facebook, on the phone or you can even pop in the shop.

80% of couples who book with us, do not attend a consultation appointment.

Consultation appointments are not necessary for semi-naked cakes or buttercream-covered cakes.

If you know you’d like a semi-naked cake or a ribbed or smooth buttercream wedding cake, fantastic!! We love their rustic, relaxed style so it is a great choice and suits many venues. However, these can be easily quoted over email or social media as there are no design elements to discuss. Let us know what you want it decorated with (eg fruit, flowers or macarons) and collect a sample box to try our flavours at home.

Before the Consultation

To ensure we can offer the best service, please have your wedding date and venue confirmed before booking your consultation. This allows us to check our availability and confirm that we deliver to your chosen location.

It’s also helpful to come with a general idea of your dream cake. You don’t need to have a full design planned, but consider the style you’re drawn to Rustic? Classic? Cupcakes? Luxury? A starting point helps us tailor suggestions to your vision.

We’ve found that consultations are most productive when both partners have discussed the cake beforehand. Arriving with no shared ideas can make things more challenging, and it limits how much guidance we can give.

At your consultation, you’ll both enjoy a tasting of our cakes—because what’s inside is just as important as how it looks.
Browse our range of cake flavours and choose up to six you’d like to sample. Let us know your selections in advance so we can have them ready for you.

Upcoming Cake Consultations

Our consultation appointments are £25.00 to attend.

The consultation is just for the two of you. We would love to meet parents, bridesmaids, best men and grandmas, but there simply isn’t enough space. However, if you’re unable to get a babysitter, well-behaved children are fine to attend. (Please note that additional cake will not be provided.)

We add new dates regularly so be sure to check check back again if none of the above are suitable. There are likely to be fewer appointments during the summer as we are busy making and delivering wedding cakes. If you are getting married in the next 4-6 months and need a consultation appointment, please get in touch and we can arrange them on an ad-hoc basis.

We can create bespoke appointments, however, this is subject to availability and comes with an additional £10 fee.

Discuss design options: During the consultation, you can discuss various design options, such as tier arrangements, colour schemes, decorative elements, and texture details. We can then offer our suggestions based on our knowledge and expertise.
Clarify details: Attending a consultation gives you the chance to ask questions and clarify any doubts you might have. You can find out more about the cake design, delivery, setup, and other logistics. It is the best time to utilise our professional knowledge and experience.
Budget management: Our consultations allow you to discuss your budget and receive a quote. This helps ensure that the cake aligns with your financial plans.

Take-Away Sample Boxes

If you are not able to attend or don’t need an appointment you’re still welcome to order a take-away box of sample cakes. These need to be booked in advance, so please get in touch to discuss.

These boxes are £15.00 and are enough for two to share.

Consultation Cancellations

If you have booked a wedding cake consultation appointment and are no longer able to attend, please let us know at the earliest opportunity. We’re busy girls, our time is precious and we can offer your appointment slot to others.

If you cancel your appointment with more than a week’s notice we will issue a full refund. However, if it is less than a week we are unable to refund you as it is not likely we will be able to fill this appointment slot.

If you pre-book an appointment but we have not received payment, the appointment is still shown as booked on our website. If you cancel with less than a week’s notice or do not attend the appointment you will be charged to book another appointment in the future.
